Banks & Taylor Shefford Old Strong (SOS)

This beer sampled at: The William Wilberforce, Trinity House Lane, Hull

BREWED BY: B & T Brewery, The Brewery, Shefford, Bedfordshire, SG17 5DZ
AVAILABILITY: Generally Available, all year round.
ALCOHOL BY VOLUME: 5.0% (1 pint = 2.8 UK units)
APPEARANCE: Mid-amber with a solid, though light head..
FLAVOUR: Very malty with a slightly spicy aftertaste; background flavours are of apple and white pepper, with a faint hint of banana. The hops take a little while to emerge from behind the sweetness of the malt, but when they do, the bitterness is reminiscent of that from citrus peel, lacking the dryness of other, more heavily hopped beers.
APPEAL: FREQUENT. A curious blend of flavours adds up to an enjoyable pint.
