Cotleigh Long Eared Owl

This beer sampled at: The Admiral of the Humber, Anlaby Road, Hull

BREWED BY: Cotleigh Brewery Ltd, Ford Road, Wiveliscombe, Somerset TA4 2RE
AVAILABILITY: originally exclusive to Wetherspoons beer festival of 2009, but now generally available all year round as one of Cotleigh's 'community support' brews. Sales of this beer generate donations to the Hawk and Owl Trust
ALCOHOL BY VOLUME: 4.9% (1 pint = 2.8 UK units)
APPEARANCE: Copper coloured with a thick solid white head.
FLAVOUR:  Highly hopped with a slight tannin dryness. What little malt there is imparts no sweetness whatsoever; there are floral background flavours in the aftertaste, coupled with a citrus peel tartness.
APPEAL: FREQUENT. Very bitter, floral and fruity.
