Milestone Gamekeeper

This beer sampled at: The Admiral of the Humber, Anlaby Road, Hull
BREWED BY: Milestone Brewery, Great North Road, Cromwell, Newark, Nottinghamshire NG23 6JE
ALCOHOL BY VOLUME: 5.2% (1 pint = 3.0 UK units)
APPEARANCE: An amber coloured ale with a bubbly white head.
FLAVOUR: Perhaps this is a new addition to Milestone's range, or perhaps they just don't keep their product details up-to-date online, but there's no reference to this beer on their website, hence the missing availability data. It's a shame because this should be an ale to brag about. It's strong, full-bodied and exceptionally well hopped. This bitter is VERY bitter, so might not be to the taste of someone who insists on a sweeter, maltier brew. Apart from the intense hoppiness, background flavours abound: citrus fruits, pepper, not to mention the roasted malt, all feature.
APPEAL: REGULAR. A superior bitter, refreshing and exceptionally tasty. Definitely recommended.
