Bateman's Victory Ale

This beer sampled at: The Three John Scotts, Lowgate, Hull

BREWED BY: George Bateman and Son Ltd. Salem Bridge Brewery, Wainfleet, Lincolnshire PE24 4JE www.bateman.co.uk
AVAILABILITY: Seasonably available from autumn, but also produced intermittently at other times of the year. (Bottled version also available: 6.0%)
ALCOHOL BY VOLUME: 5.9% (1 pint = 3.4 UK units)
APPEARANCE: Mid to dark amber in colour, with a thick, white, bubbly head.
FLAVOUR: A beautiful blend of hops and malt in perfect balance. The taste will remind you of every beer you've ever remembered with relish. Flavours abound: citrus fruit, floral tones, spice, nuts and pine - all delicately blended to complement each other perfectly. Advertised as a pale ale, but it's much more than that.
APPEAL: REGULAR. The greatest testimonial I can give to this beer is to say that it would be my ale of choice, no matter whatever other beers were on offer alongside it.
