Marston's Sweet Chariot

This beer sampled at: King Edward IV, Hallgate, Cottingham

BREWED BY: Marston's Beer Company Limited c/o Marston's PLC. Marston's House, Brewery Road, Wolverhampton WV1 4JT
AVAILABILITY: Occasional brew; in 2011 this will be brewed during February and September only.
ALCOHOL BY VOLUME: 4.8% (1 pint = 2.7 UK units)
APPEARANCE: Reddish amber in colour, with a thick, tight creamy head.
FLAVOUR: A medium hopped bitter with a fruity tang and aftertastes, both nutty and slightly peppery. The malt is understated, so only a semi-sweetness is detectable (despite the name.) Leaves a very dry sensation on the palate after the swallow. The pint I had was very cold; the flavour would probably benefit from not being quite so well chilled.
APPEAL: FREQUENT. Bitter and very refreshing..
